Neutral Safety switch location on jeep and replacement

Typically the neutral safety switch is incorporated into the the transmission range sensor (TSR), which is part of the transmission's valve body assembly. If you've been having trouble with your Liberty not shifting into 3rd, or chattering when it does shift, you may have a shift solenoid issue, a hydraulic pressure issue (which could be due to the solenoid failure, or completely unrelated), or a mechanical failure inside the transmission. As for the neutral switch, its job is to keep the engine from being started when the transmission isn't in park or neutral.
