Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! It sounds like you're dealing with a frustrating issue with your 2004 Jeep Liberty. Since you've already replaced the key cylinder, actuator, and ignition switch, it’s likely that the problem lies in the steering column or wiring. When you have to turn the steering wheel to start the car, it can indicate a binding or worn component in the steering lock mechanism, which prevents the ignition switch from functioning properly. Another possibility is a wiring issue or a poor connection somewhere along the ignition circuit. Sometimes, these issues can be tough to spot, especially if there are no codes showing up on your reader. It might be worth checking the wiring harness for any signs of wear, corrosion, or shorts, particularly where it connects to the ignition system. If this keeps happening, it could be a good idea to have a professional take a look, especially since you've already replaced several parts.
