What does it mean to "cycle the ignition key?"

I have a throttle light that came on. The owner's manual says to "cycle the ignition key when the vehicle is completely stopped and the transmission is in the PARK position." Since my vehicle is keyless, does this mean the same thing as turning the vehicle off and restarting it? I need help. I don't want to go to a repair shop if it's something I can do.
