Check engine light on, note said "key fob battery low" I changed the battery in both fobs and now I get a message "remote disabled start car to reset" when I remote start the car it turns on but 10 secs later it turns off.

ok,this beat me up,so i went searching.when the cel comes on,the pcm disables you remote start.copy and paste the link,and read all the way to the end.you have a code stored,take to AZ,and have them pull the code and print it out,its free.then post code here. Thanks so much for checking it out. I had not gotten the code yet but I did change the battery in both key fobs and when I got in the car today the check engine light was off and the remote start worked correctly. I had read somewhere that it sometimes takes a couple days to reset and I guess that's what happened! Very glad that it " fixed itself" and is working properly now. Thanks for your help!
Just a heads up for you guys regarding the check engine light issue. The "Check Engine Light" indicator is not just a decoration on your dash. It says what it says and it is also a a safety precaution for you to be aware that there is a potential problem or problems that occurred. It could be anything from a simple gas cap gasket, leaks in hydraulic hoses, pumps, sensors, etc. @Stevieray....about your problem with remote start disabling after about 10-20 seconds and display says "remote start deactivated"....it is not actually the remote starter that has an issue. I bet you a dime...that one or more of the displays like the "ECO" display disappears as well, or maybe not because you didn't notice it, but for sure the "Check Engine" indicator lamp was there to stay....it could be a multiple problems..if these are the signs, my best bet would be to start with the leaks, connections, fuses. "Thermostat" for an instance....have it check by scanning or decoding and get the code. It may be functioning normally when you get to the codes or parts that it is saying...but it indicates that sooner or later its gonna fail....The on board computer on vehicles right now are so sensitive but pretty much accurate. You might want to buy a simple OBD2 scanner that will sure help you identify the issues of your vehicle since you have a lot of issues to come....Taking the battery off or using the scanner to cancel the Check Engine light is what most people does just to have that light off their screen, but 100% guaranteed (not unless the problem is fixed correctly)...the problem is still there and it will only take some time for it come back....until the computer sense it again.... and by that time, it will definitely cost you more when it comes to time and money....in some cases, even ours and others safety was placed at risks as well....what we feel, hear, see or smell in our vehicle is nothing compared to what these on board computers can do. They are designed to perform and that's what they do best....just an advise.
not my jeep!i suggested getting the cel codes read,but the light went out.maybe it was on when the jeep was not running,just a bulb check,don't know.all i know is that it has been 8 MONTHS since this went on.so i figure if there was a problem,would have heard about it by now!
I had the same issue with my 2011 jeep, I first opened my key, took the battery out and bit it (something I learned from an old tech geek boyfriend) and put the battery back in and tried the remote start again.... and it worked. Biting the battery is a free diagnosis and if it winds up working for you too, you'll know you'll only need to swing by a Walgreens for the repair. Hope this helps!
It starts with the push button in the car with doors closed and foot on break. It's the remote start that messes up...starts the car from outside then 10 Sec's the ignition turns off weather I'm in or out of the car. I get a message that says "remote start disabled, turn car on to reset" I do that and the yellow check engine light comes back on every time and the remote start stil goes on then off. I can't find any settings to change.
