car won't start / makes clicking noise /even after jumped

I would go with replacing the starter solenoid; it may be weak, and only closing its secondary contacts solidly with the slightly higher voltage provided by a jump start (perhaps as much as 14 volts compared to 12 or less from the vehicle's own battery). I have even taken a solenoid apart, and fixed it with a bit of fine sandpaper, and a new copper bolt for the contact.

("starts when jumped") .. IF it starts with a jump start .. Have battery and alternator tested!
