Have crankshaft position sensor tested... You'll need to leave vehicle at repair shop in hopes the problem will occur so testing can be completed.... I guess you could take a chance and just replace it but that's entirely up to you !
Try SEVERAL things & trust me I thought I'd ALREADY done it , but here goes #1 Crank Sensor, a bitch to put on, unless you're very good take it to someone who is, or PEP BOYS ,#2 Spark plugs & coil, you can do this probably , be careful & use a magnet tray , & a magnet on taking out & putting in new plugs & go slow , do even think about cross threading them, & #3, & this one is WIERD , on you transmission case on the drivers side is I think it's called a speed sensor, replace that & maybe even check for leaks on the case, if so get 5 quarts of the plus 4 Mopar transmission fluid & 1 quart of the Lucas Transmission assist as well as the new gasket & filter, put the Lucas in first, as it is VERY THICK, to be honest if you don't have a problem on this last step , don't bother & if you do , have a PRO do it, I screwed mine up so bad they had to put in a new wire harness 8& sensor. Most likely # 1 or 2 , also map sensor , good luck. WB PS Sorry ,didn't see map & cam sensor replacement, most likely the crank sensor, & I would replace the plugs & the coil to, & 1 last thing I did not know , the plug are listed on the hood above your head, Champion I think with a .035 gap , which is already done for you at the factory , if you can't fin d it hit me up & I'll look. & like someone said the fuel pump balaistor was stopped putting on in either 1993 0r 1995.
try resetting the PCM. my 2001 did the same thing so did some googling and found that unplugged the 3 wiring harnesses and disconnected the battery overnight. I have had no more stalling issues. The Power Control Module controls the engine idle based on information it receives from the numerous sensors. When it starts to malfunction it will cause engine to stall , sputter, and run rough. sometimes the plugs just become loose.. good luck!
Have looked into that, but going to replace the furl pump ballast resistor first, thanks
Mine just started doing the same thing. 2001can u please let me know what fixwd it
Well I can tell you the fuel pump ballast resistor wasn't the problem - CAUSE it ain't got one! I'll stick with my suggestion on this one .. It's a lot cheaper and a lot less work than buying and installing a bunch of parts that it DON'T need! .... Not my first rodeo .. 43 years now in the automobile troubleshooting and repair business - and still at it... Good luck to all.
you are correct , stopped uszing them in 93 or 95
