so my jeep shifts great when its cool but when its hot it wont shift right. i go mudding and i dont have a separate trans cooler its in my radiator so i flushed it and it cooled it but then it took longer for it to act up but it still does so i changed my trans filter and now i cant tell if it works cause now everytime i put it in gear my jeep dies and i can force it to keep going but it wont run right

Just a guess here but maybe the computer just needs to re-learn the idle configuration of the engine. As for the transmission, under heavy loads, like mudding, it could be still overheating and if that is the case you will need to install another cooler in the return line to keep the fluid cool. Maybe one of the pros on here can think of a better explanation for the engine not running right.
