What is your question?
When braking my brakes are squealing. I’ve taken to yo the dealership twice and each time I’ve been told nothing is wrong with my brakes. According to the dealership the sound only resonates from the inside which I’ve found to be untrue because I can hear the squeal from the outside as well. According to the dealership there’s nothing they can do about the squeal and it’s a known complaint; basically they told me to deal with it and that it’s probably the weather causing moisture in the brakes. Can you give me some info that sounds realistic?

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Compass. Persistent brake squeaking, especially after a dealer inspection, can be frustrating. Squealing often occurs from factors like brake pad material, minor corrosion on the rotor, or even weather conditions that cause moisture buildup, as the dealership mentioned. Many brake pads now have semi-metallic or ceramic compounds, which can produce a higher-pitched squeal under certain conditions but still perform safely. Temperature changes, rain, or humidity can amplify this noise, especially when the brakes are cold or when stopping lightly. Since they advised that this is a known problem, it may be a good idea to ask the dealer occasionally if Jeep has released any service publications or updated parts. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered.
