What is your question?
Hit a curb slipping on some snow and my tire bent/pushed backwards to the point of almost rubbing against the mudguard. I had practically the same thing happen to me on a different car, but the problem is that the vehicle is restored from salvage. Would this deem the vehicle totaled or is this sort of thing repairable?

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I’m sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Compass. A bent control arm or axle should generally be replaced rather than repaired. The control arm holds the suspension in alignment, and when bent, it can misalign the wheel, causing rubbing or improper handling. Similarly, a damaged axle can affect how power transfers to the wheels. Your vehicle being restored from salvage doesn't automatically mean it's totaled, but the repair costs must be assessed. A professional will inspect the control arm, axle, suspension, and surrounding components (like the strut, wheel hub, and frame). If the frame is undamaged and repairs are limited to the suspension, it's likely fixable. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered.
