Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Compass. Replacing this model's rear side marker light can be tricky since it's not directly accessible through the main taillight housing. The side marker is a separate unit attached to the rear quarter panel. You'll likely need to remove the side marker assembly to replace it. Open the trunk and check for small access panels or screws near the marker's location. Some models require you to unscrew and gently pop out the marker light housing from the outside. Once removed, twist the bulb socket counterclockwise to pull it out, replace the bulb, and reassemble everything. Handle the housing carefully to avoid scratching the paint or breaking the clips. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered.
