my car keeps cutting off if its warm outside and I've driven it some stop to go in store and try to start it again

my car cuts off after I've driven it for about 20 minutes and I cut it off to go somewhere briefly and I start the car back up, it'll keep cutting off, I let it rest 10 minutes and it'll stay on, and it happens mainly when it's hot outside, not when it's cold

What makes this problem better or worse?

it's better when it's cold outside
