Why does my 2007 Jeep commander sound so loud?

I have a 2007 Jeep commander. It sounds like I have a rumble pack on the exhaust. It’s very hard to hear anyone inside the cabin when they talk, it’s so loud. Does this sound like a catalytic converter or muffler issue? No leaks or noises elsewhere and it’s in great shape otherwise.
