The vehicle starts with a jump box but shuts off when the jump source is removed. It happened twice.
What makes this problem better or worse?
When I try to start there is a clicking sound. My vehicle starts with a jump but shuts off as soon as the jumper cable is removed. Roadside said it is the alternator

Hi - Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. Do not pre-judge your alternator, as the battery needs to be fully charged to test the charging system. Since the vehicle stalls when the jumper is removed, I suspect your battery is the first area of concern. Resolve by installing a new battery that is fully charged and tests good, or get your current battery fully charged and tested as good. Once you have a good battery in the vehicle, testing for the charging system including the altenrator can be performed. No guessing is helpful.
