Hello, my best suggestion is to consult your local Jeep dealership and investigate further. You will find that they will probably be very helpful. Or at least would be able to advocate on your behalf perhaps to repair your vehicle if you are not still under factory warranty. To address your question directly, though, vehicle serial number ranges are calculated due to known information from the manufacturer about what time frames and vehicles were affected by any given recall. There would be a known change of process or component usage illustrated on a certain date or production range. As a result, they have a pretty solid idea of what is and what isn't included in a service action. Keep in mind also that until your concern is diagnosed for cause of failure, you'll not be able to even know what's wrong with your Jeep. There are many reasons a failure could occur, so be sure to have a proper diagnostic test performed.
