How do I know if I can put a rack on the roof of my car

What is your question?

I have a 2017 Jeep Cherokee Sport. It does not have a rack on the roof. I need one. So how do I know if I can put one on there. I can't tell if I have grooves or not. Is there a removable rack system that you could recommend if my Jeep does not have what it needs to have a Jeep rack installed. I don't know anything about cars. So please explain without using to much 'car talk' lol. Thank you so much.
