What is your question?
87 XJS 70K miles. Engine starts normally when cold or even warm but after a 20 - 30 minute drive it must set for about an hour or more before it will start, cranks over fine but no start until it sits for a while. What seems to make the problem better or worse? won't start when hot, 1987 xjs How long have you had this problem? last couple of outings

Hard restart after a "hot soak" -- meaning the engine is hot, and fuel returned to the fuel tank is also hot as a result (this vehicle has an older fuel system that is not "returnless") can be caused by a weak fuel pump -- as one suggestion. When the fuel cools, the fuel pump begins working again. This is classic for fuel pumps of that era. Now, this concern could also be related to ignition control, so I don't want to say anything for sure. Perform a check of fuel and spark when the problem is occurring, and proceed down the proper path.
