What is your question?
My fuel pump was actually in the gas tank of my 2002 Jaguar Vanden Plas V8 4.L The mechanic had to extract gas to get to it. Is this normal? or has my vehicle been modified? I inherited it from my brother.

Hello -- Did you ever get help with this? We'd love to help! It's interesting but the fuel pump in many situations is INSIDE the gas tank, and the gas itself acts as a bit of a "Cooling system" for the fuel pump. So yes, you do have to take all the gas out to swap it out. (caution: this is why you should NEVER let your fuel level go down below 1/8 to 1/4 tank, as it can cause the FP to overheat!
