car run rough and pinging sound won't stay started

Take a while to start it, when it do start it run rough, i have to hold my foot on the gas a little to keep it running, then you hear a ping noise if you push on the gas to hard, when I let go of the gas it cut off, sound like the timing has jumped, I was shocked to see the timing chain and the guide looked good not broke when i removed the timing cover, I did find some shaving from the two tensioner I changed two years ago, they were plastic and they were broke, so I just put the two in and did not look for the falling parts back then, so I changed the oil pan gasket two days ago and found that plastic from two years ago, could that of made me jump timing now...
