My car motor just turns over when i try to crank it an none of the dash lights come on either when the swicth is on

The car had been park for a few days and when I tried go to the store I got in the car put the key in and turn the switch on then I seen that no lights where coming on in the dashboard tried to crank it but it only turn over and wouldn't start
