What is your question?
This car was given to me it runs but will not move in any gear. When you shift back to park it grinds or clicks on the park pin. Is it the transfer case transmission or both?? I understand this is a common problem for these cars. Please help.

To maybe give you some idea of what may be going on with it,look to the right of this page and click on this> *Common 2004 Jaguar X-Type problems*,then it goes to another page, then click on this>*Transmission Failure Common*,once you click on that.scroll down and start reading the reported transmission problems, there are 3 pages full! see if any of them rings a bell....
Going to be hard to tell without a hands on inspection. If you aren't equipped to work on the car where it sits it may be time to call for a tow. Could be internal to the transmission, t-case its hard to diagnose with any accuracy without looking at it. https://repairpal.com/questions Alex
