trans fault message car runs but tranny does not shift even when i try to shift

Jaguar transmissions do give problems, perhaps try servicing the transmission and starting with fresh fluid. A scan tool is necessary to see what is really going on. The genuine Jaguar scan tool is of course best, the Launch scan tool may also work well. Are there any independent Jaguar shops in your area?
