the car is completely dead..no ignition,no electric anything, cant even open the

Not so. When the batters is dead, nothing works including getting into the trunk where the battery is located, cant move the shift lever out of park to move the car and on and on. You need to find where the + and - battery cables pass thru the inside of the car to the front, or if you can open the hood (which was a problem we also had at the time) where they enter the engine compartment and use the jumper cables there. Once a proper connection is made with the jumpers, you hear a loud click and everything comes back on line

sorry,thought the hood was open or could open.should be a positive lug inside the car,maybe kick panel?then just hook the other to a good ground somewhere?
