Can I put a 2003 stype transmission into a 2001 Stype?

What is your question?

We own a 2003 s-type with 68,000 miles that needs too much work to repair and due to hail storm damage has a salvage title. However, the transmission has been rebuilt and is solid. We are buying a 2001 S-Type with 40,000 miles. Can I pull transmission out of 03’ to use in 01’ if needed?

Hello, you have not mentioned which engine is in each S-Type. However, it ends up that it doesn't matter. The 2001 and 2003 transmissions for either engine are not compatible with each other.
