the problem was no heat.change the thermostat now car overheats.is the thermostat upside down. Bobbyoo

the side with the big spring goes into the engine, then the cover bolts on over the pointed side that sticks out.
Sure sounds like it ,the spring on the thermostat should be faceing downward so it can properly read the engine coolant temp. which will allow the thermostat to open allowing coolant to flow keeping the engine at a regulated temp.
u would think so.i have turn thermostat both ways.the car still overheats about 5 min after u start it.it did not overheat before i change the thermostat'. i change the thermostat because the heater didnt work.
You may have a leak in one of your hoses or coolant reservoir...or your heater control valve that sit to the left of the radiator is stuck closed. The only other thing it can be is your heater core clogged. I had the same problems.
thank u.not sure wat u mean.thermostat doesnt fit into the engine.it is in the thermo housing below the radiator.the housing has 3 hoses going to it.the thermostat sits inside the metal housing veritcal.
