If I remember correctly there are TWO switches side by side - ONE is for brake light operation and the OTHER is for cruise control release. That is IF I remember correctly! You may have inadvertently damaged or dislocated the cruise release switch during the process. This is based on repair of a Chevy Colorado - which is *SAME VEHICLE*.. Just has a different badge. GOOD LUCK!
