What causes my car to shut off while driving??

Hello, have you had a diagnosis performed to determine what is going on? It's important to know if you have a loss of spark, fuel or an issue with air intake when your issues occur. If I had to guess, it sounds like you may have a loss of fuel pressure. If your fuel pump stops working at times, it can then start functioning again after it cools off -- or after you sit for a while as you've stated. Nonetheless, this is not to say I would replace the fuel pump without testing it! Sometimes it costs far more to throw parts at a vehicle to attempt to solve a problem rather than having a definitive diagnosis performed first off.
