where is fuel filter in car

The fuel filter is located under the hood and is held by a strap attached to the wheel-well (passenger side). It should be a silver looking can about 2-1/2" long and about 1-1/2" dia. It has hose nipples at both ends so this is referenced as an in-line or flow-thru filter. The filter needs to be replaced often as there is no other filter (such as a sediment filter on the pick-up in the fuel tank)
