adjusting e-brake cable to fit new caliper

Hello and thanks. I put a new caliper on the driver's side rear of a 2000 infiniti i30 and the e-brake cable is an inch too long to fit back into the clip on the new caliper. How to I adjust the cable to shorten it? Any help is appreciated.
