When starting my car, car says to press break

If the car instrumentation is asking you to press the brake pedal, and you are already with sufficient pressure, then there could be a concern with the brake light switch. This switch not only turns the brake lights on, but it signals to various components that you are using the brake pedal. If the switch malfunctions, the components looking for the brake pedal to be depressed won't know that you are pressing the brake. Have this looked at first.
