My headlights randomly turn on when my car is off

The first questions I have are: are there any modifications to the vehicle, are the lamps factory or aftermarket, is there an alarm system added? The kind of concern you have seems to be related to something that's not normal from the factory. Doesn't mean that it has to be that way, but I always look at variables instead of something that went wrong with the way the car was built originally. Even physical damage from an accident or rodent intrusion - causing wiring issues -- these are things to look at. Besides that, I suppose a headlight switch issue could cause the problem if it is overheated and melted the wiring.
