Car won't start after hitting the governor?

The other day I hit the governor in my 2008 Infiniti G37s. When I hit it the car lost power. I had to get it towed to my house. I disconnected the battery to reset the car. The car will try and turn over but won't and it has a hard time doing so. Haven't check the fluids yet which is the next step. Wondering if you had similar issues with the same car or other cars.
