Could the tps and the accelerator position sensor be out of sank

I have a 2003 Hyundai xg350l I've replaced the mass air sensor and I've replace the throttle position sensor the car still will start and then die. It will not run. it shows the code p1171 tps circuit open and sometimes I can smell has as if it is flooding out. Also I may get back firing. I'm at a loss on what to do all the connections look good the wires look good can you help
