How to disable vehicle without damaging it.

What is your question?

I am wanting a way to disable my vehicle at night so it will not be stolen by a skilled car thief. I would prefer to have a “quick fix”, like a fuse, so I can pop it back in as needed and go. Which of course means I’d prefer not to have it mess up my computer for long time reset, nor damage my battery or anything else. I’d prefer not to remove the battery as it is quite heavy, naturally. I have tried the fuel pump fuse and my car started right up without it. I appreciate any assistance. I don’t have a garage and cameras only assist after it’s been taken. I suppose I could do a boot, but locks can be picked …. I’m sure this is odd, but people you don’t come with ingredients lists and if romance ends, we’ll there ya go. Thank you!!!
