Hello, I’m Pete from the Car Genius team at RepairPal. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this concern on your Hyundai Tucson. Depending on the concern that is occurring here, if the issue is with the actual brake lights themselves intermittently working when the brake pedal is applied, that issue can be caused by an internal intermittent fault with the brake switch itself, a wiring concern, or even a fault with a computer that aids with controlling the brake lights. If the concern is in relation to an actual brake warning light that is coming up on the dash, this is an indication of something like low brake fluid due to a leak or worn brake pads, a faulty brake fluid reservoir sensor that may need to be replaced, or in some cases a fault with one of the brake components that the brake computer has detected and has turned on this warning light. I recommend having these all checked into dependent upon which is occurring to help identify which component is at fault so it can then be repaired properly from there.
