Hi, I'm one of the auto experts on RepairPal's Car Genius team! Great question! On your 2018 Hyundai Sonata if a new fuel pump and relay are installed but the pump still isn't priming it strongly suggests the pump isn't receiving power rather than the pump itself being faulty. A blown fuse in the fuel pump circuit is the first and simplest thing to check, as there is often a dedicated fuel pump fuse in addition to the relay. A faulty anti theft system or immobilizer that is cutting power to the fuel system is another possibility worth considering, as these systems can sometimes prevent the fuel pump from activating even with a new pump installed. It's also worth checking whether the new fuel pump was properly wired and that the connector is fully seated, as an incomplete connection can prevent the pump from receiving power even when everything else is functioning correctly. Given that multiple parts have already been replaced I’d strongly recommend having a qualified shop perform a proper electrical diagnosis on the fuel pump circuit to pinpoint exactly where the power loss is occurring before replacing anything else.
