Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! Replacing the headlight assembly on your 2018 Sonata isn't too tricky, but it does take a bit of finesse. First, pop the hood and disconnect the negative battery terminal for safety. Next, you'll want to remove any plastic clips or screws securing the front bumper cover around the headlight area. Gently pull back the bumper enough to access the bolts holding the headlight assembly in place. Remove the bolts securing the old headlight, unplug the wiring harness, and carefully pull the broken assembly out. Reverse the process with your new headlight—plug in the wiring, secure the bolts, and pop the bumper back in place. Reattach the plastic clips and screws, and reconnect the battery. Aim the headlights properly to ensure good visibility. A little time and patience, and your Sonata will be shining bright again!
