What is your question?
Yes I have a 2017 Hyundai sonata se 2.4l with odometer reading 238,000 but technically when I bought the used car the knocker sensor sent my car in lag mode. Hyundai was able to give me a whole new engine for free. I haven’t had any problems with my car just been changing the oil and air filter and cabin filter that’s it. Also I did change my spark plugs about 2 years ago. Other than that nothing serious had been wrong with my car. 2 months ago I started hearing a knocking noise after 20 mins of driving once I hit a speed of 70mph or above when I hit the acceleration pedal but when I let off it stopped. Well lately for the past few weeks I haven’t heard anything now. What could have this been?
How long has your 2017 Hyundai Sonata had this problem?
More than a month

Hello, I’m Pete from the Car Genius team at RepairPal. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this concern on your 2017 Hyundai Sonata. A knocking noise at higher vehicle speeds when applying the accelerator pedal can be caused by several different things. Components like a loose, damaged, or broken engine mount can cause this issue as well as loose or damaged exhaust components or hangers for the exhaust system. This noise in some cases can also be caused by an internal mechanical failure of the engine or the transmission itself. The best thing to do is to have your vehicle inspected to identify which component or components are creating this noise so it can then be repaired properly from there. This should be checked into as soon as you can to prevent further damage or even failure of the component creating this concern.
