Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I’m sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Sonata. If your engine is locked up, that means something is broken inside preventing it from turning over. The first thing I would do is input your VIN at https://repairpal.com/recalls to see if there are any recalls related to your vehicle. There are a couple ways to move forward with repairs including replacing only the damaged components or installing a reconditioned or salvage engine. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered. Give us a call at 877-913-1554, and we will happily help you out!
Hi - adding to Devin's great advice -- don't forget that original owners have a 10 year / 100,000 mile warranty on powertrain with Hyundai last I knew -- there are certain requirements and conditions and you had to buy the vehicle new - so make sure you follow up with your Hyundai dealership just in case you can get assistance there!
