What is your question?
The dealer said I need a new transmission. I was quoted just under $5000 for a rebuilt installed. Is this a fair figure?
How long has your 2013 Hyundai Sonata had this problem?
Just started having problems

Hello, prices will vary depending on geographical location and components used. My best suggestion would be to contact other local shops near you for a second opinion and separate quote. There is no "normal". I'd not be surprised of a price ike that. I am assuming you are not the original owner of the vehicle -- because famously, the original vehicle owner is entitled to a 10 year / 100,000 mile warranty for powertrain repairs on a Hyundai. Also, you may want to check for any "special" coverages for a hybrid vehicle, especially as a California resident. I would ask the dealership to investigate this. Lastly, Hyundai may offer some goodwill assistance in certain cases; worth pursuing. www.repairpal.com/repair-shops That's a link to use to find shops near you for another opinion.
