I am 76 YO widow with ambulation issues. Battery went bad, barely got it out of car & to store to have tested. Was in pain 3 days. SALESMAN: "Leaking acid. No more that brand in stock." Bought what he gave me. Took all my strength to get it home & put in car. Only ONE battery cable reaches terminals. Bought top post dual lead battery cable saver to extend the only cable I can access to change battery out - the positive terminal one. It seems there is an extra positive cable (no terminal connection) that only comes part way up. Do I need to splice & replace BOTH positive cables? It will be difficult to have room to lift battery to work on it & is very very hard for me to lift battery to return to store but more so if I have to replace a SECOND cable.

Hi - Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. I'm so sorry for your personal condition and resulting situation. Shame on that store - they should only sell you a battery that is correct. There is exactly one battery "group size" that is correct for your vehicle, and everything else is inappropriate. It's not helpful for you to buy the wrong battery! I'm sorry, you'll need to take the battery back and buy the correct one. The correct one will fit without any modifications. Shame on that store for doing the wrong thing.
