If the vehicle shift lever will physically not move into reverse following the proper methods, there is likely a shift fork or gear issue inside the transmission that will need inspected and repaired. Also, you could have a clutch or hydraulic system issue preventing movement. Does the vehicle shift into reverse with the engine off? If so, it could be the clutch system.
