What is your question?
Sensor shuts down gas entry at the gas station. Gasoline must be pumped very slowly. Takes ten minutes if you put in ten gallons, squeezing gas pump slowly and carefully. Now, gauge on dashboard is broken showing 3/4 and won't take more than 4 gal of gas and then indicates tank is full though of course, it is not full, based on usual gas mileage. No clue as to when to put in another 4 gallons! This is a 2001 Sonata LX having problems.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Adding fuel quickly is impossible
How long has your 2001 Hyundai Sonata had this problem?
Since I bought it 6 years ago

Hello, when there is trouble adding fuel, it can often be attributed to a fuel tank ventilation issue. Think of a bottle - if you can't displace the air in a bottle, you can't fill it with any liquid. Likewise, with emissions controls, fuel systems are kept from releasing too much vapors unless allowed to. This could mean an evaporative emissions system component has failed and is preventing fuel to be pumped into the tank. Testing is required to find out what is going on.
