took 2011 sante fe to auto zone and diagnostic test said transaxle, what does this mean?

Actually it means additional- more thorough - testing needs to be performed .. Zone can only read the trouble codes presently stored in the computers memory .. That isn't considered a real diagnostic test! Highly recommend having local auto repair facility do a complete *scan test* which is much more involved and informative than any test a simple code reader can do. Additionally - auto parts stores do not employ any 'technicians' that can properly perform the necessary testing to complete the diagnosis that is required.
