Will contaminated power steering fluid in resiouver cause steering to make noise

Usually power steering fluid would get low would add fluid when steering made noise. I decided to add sealent and the next day it seemed to work. I looked at fluid and it had turned dark brown. If I change the fluid will this cure my problem.then saw leak in front of passenger side in front of tire. I am not sure where this is coming from. Could you please help me as sound is getting louder.
