What is your question?
AC stops blowing after several minutes, tests run etc confirming thermistor evap issue (car has 150K on original equipment); mechanic is also telling me the compressor is a "ticking time bomb and a matter of time" before it goes. I can get OEM core, drier, compressor & thermistor under $400; if I supply parts labor quoted for all with evac & recharge at $800, is this a fair price? Should I push back for lower?
Thanks - $800 was quoted from dealer, but I've been dealing with an independent shop, who will also be supplying a labor estimate. I'm all for the local/little guy, but in this case, unless the independent shop comes back significnatly lower on cost, I'm thinking the dealer is a better move due to equipment and experience on these complex systems...any additional thoughts?
Just an opinion , I work at a dealer , but I also prefer to support small business! Good luck.
Thanks - what's interesting is that they apparently split it with the mechanic, so they ask them what they are willing to do the job for...I was thinking of pushing back for more like $650-$700.
