I have a problem with the transmission interlock solenoid.

What is your question?

Sometimes cannot remove the key for a while until there is a click and sometimes cannot move the shift out of park. I would like get to this solenoid to fix this problem. Any Ideas how to get to it ,I think it's at the base of the shift assembly, and what would be the repair process?

Spray the heck out of it with WD-40 first, while working the release button, key on and foot on brakes! Have fixed a few that way. They get gummed up from soda, coffee, dirt etc.. I mean spray it a bunch, down inside around the shifter and around the push button too! Spray any moving parts.

Thanks I will try that, but would also appreciate any other ideas too. Wll let you know how I get on with this.
