What is your question?
About 2 months ago my 2012 Hyundai Elantra wouldn’t start and I’ve been trying to find out the issue. I even bought a new starter but I wanted to make sure the starter was the issue. Today I tried to crank my car up and it started after me trying to crank it for the past 2 months and it doing nothing not even making the ticking sound. Do you think the start is the issue?

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I’m sorry to hear you're having trouble with your vehicle. If your Elantra suddenly started after two months of not starting, it might not necessarily be the starter that's at fault. Since it wasn't even making a sound before, the issue could have been related to the battery, battery connections, or a problem with the ignition switch or starter relay. Corroded or loose battery terminals can prevent the car from starting, and sometimes, simply cleaning and tightening them can resolve the issue. If the problem persists, it might be worth having a professional check the electrical system to ensure everything is in good working order.
