33,000 miles is such low mileage to be having a transmission problem from normal driving. Yes, the fluid needs to be changed -- regular maintenance for a transmission fluid change is about 30,000 miles anyway. If you are the original owner of the vehicle - definitely go to your closest Hyundai dealership for a possible warranty repair under the 10 year / 100,000 mile warranty that original Hyundai owners receive for the powertrain. If not, I would recommend seeking the guidance and assistance of a trained technician near you -- not just an "oil change" place. This way someone skilled can assess the transmission fluid condition and vehicle condition overall in an effort to provide the best direction to minimize any further damage or issues. https://repairpal.com/repair-shops/hyundai-repair-and-service-in-honolulu-hawaii
