Whining noise on cold start up

I don't have an answer, but I have the same exact problem....new engine just put in, issue with this particular engine and I had 2 starter's put in thinking it was that. Still making noise after first starter, so it was replaced and still after second starter. Please... anyone out there that knows this answer???? I was suggested that maybe the bearings in the water pump??? Well I'm having it looked at in a couple weeks, I will def post when I find out the answer!!
