Vibrations sometime occur while driving but erradically. No check engine light on.

Hello, There are a couple of different reasons this is heard on your vehicle: -A heat shield could be loose causing a rattle until warm -The variable valve timing actuator could be draining oil when sitting over night -The hydraulic valve lifters could be failing -Timing chain tensioner may be failing If you are under 100k miles, the dealer should cover all of these conditions since they are part of the powertrain. If not, you will need noise diagnosis completed in order to identify the source.
Thank you! Except I just bought the car used from the first owner at a dealer, so the 100,000 mile warranty is not applicable any more! The dealer warranty is! Would you recommend me getting it checked out before the dealer warranty ends? Would any of these be expensive fixes?
Yes, take the time now to have it checked, as well as anything else the car does wrong. Let the dealer pay under warranty if there is something wrong.
